The Animals
The Animals - Before We Were So Rudely Interrupted - Vinyl LP
Secret Records are releasing the rare, classic re-union album from The Animals on 180 g vinyl.
In 1977, the five original Animals from the group's first incarnation Eric Burdon, Alan Price, Hilton Valentine, Chas Chandler, and John Steel, re-united to record their first album in 9 years.
With exceptional vocals and keyboards by Burdon and Price, and the production by bass player Chandler making the band sound better than ever without losing that famous live feeling of their earlier albums, this is one of the best recordings made by the band. However, having been released at the height of the disco and punk eras, with very little promotion by the record label and no follow-up tour, it is also one of the most overlooked recordings in rock history.
Highlights include Eric's powerful rendition of Jimmy Cliffs' gospel-tinged 'Many Rivers To Cross' and the bluesy interpretation of Dylan's classic 'It's All Over Now Baby Blu', while the fantastic 'Fire On The Sun' along with 'The Fool' and 'As The Crow Flies' combines the blues, rock and R&B of the Animals' trademark 60's sound.
Now re-issued as a 180 g vinyl LP, be sure not to miss out on this almost lost classic!
